Room Tags: What are They and How to Create Them

A room tag is a word or phrase that is attached to one or more rooms. You can use tags for filtering data to a specific set of rooms.

Overview

A room tag is a text string that is associated to one or more rooms.  A room can be 'tagged' with as many tags as needed.  For example, a tag called 'big rooms' might be assigned to all spaces that hold over 50 people.  Another tag, 'second floor' may be assigned to rooms on the second floor of your building.  In this example, a big room on the second floor will have 2 tags, 'big rooms' and 'second floor'.

Room Tags can be used to filter the list of rooms on the following tools:

  • Add New Event
  • Find Events
  • Event Book
  • Event Calendar
  • Activity Log

How to Tag a Room

  1. Navigate to Settings > Rooms.

  2. Select one or more rooms by checking the box on each row of the room grid for the desired rooms.

  3. Select Tag Rooms > Add Tags.

  4. Pick a tag name from the list or enter a name for the new tag and press the '+' to create the new tag entry.   You can enter or pick more than one tag at this point.  When finished, press Save to place the tag(s) on the selected room(s).

How to Remove a Tag

  1. Navigate to Settings > Rooms.

  2. Select one or more rooms by checking the box on each row of the room grid for the desired rooms.

  3. Select Tag Rooms > Remove Tags.

  4. Pick a tag name from the list.

  5. You can select more than one tag at this point.  When finished, press Save to remove the tag(s) from the selected room(s).
