If you’re like most Mazévo users, you probably use the Event Editor throughout your day. You’re in there checking details, making quick updates, and sending confirmations. It’s a familiar screen, but what if it holds dozens of capabilities you’ve barely touched? What if the tool you use for daily tasks could also be your secret weapon for enhanced efficiency and greater productivity?
We answered that question in a Mazévo Connect session titled “Mastering the Mazévo Event Editor: Tips, Tricks, and Hidden Gems.” This article highlights key points from that webinar, explaining how exploring the Event Editor more deeply can transform how you manage events, saving you time and boosting your work output.
Think of the Event Editor not just as a place to "edit stuff," but as a comprehensive control panel for proactive event management. It’s designed to help you see the bigger picture and act on it without getting bogged down in repetitive clicks.
Here are a few ways to start thinking more strategically within the Event Editor:
During our webinar, we heard several "Why didn't I know this sooner?" moments from attendees. Here are a few of their discoveries that could change your workflow, too.
“I didn’t know I could group and filter bookings to update just Mondays.”
Filtering is a game-changer for large, recurring events. But did you know you can also group your view? Simply drag a column header, like "Event Type" or "Room," into the space above the list. Instantly, all your bookings are organized into collapsible sections, making it easy to visualize and manage complex schedules.
“I thought setup diagrams had to be generic attachments.”
Many users attach diagrams under the "Documents" tab. While that’s great for contracts or insurance forms, it’s the wrong place for setup diagrams. When you select a booking and go to Change > Room Setup Diagram, you can upload a file or add a URL. Placing it here ensures the diagram is directly linked to the specific booking, appears on operational reports, and can even be included as a link on the customer's confirmation.
“I didn’t realize I could see setup notes just by hovering.”
Looking for a quick reminder of the specific setup notes for a booking? There’s no need to click into another screen. Just hover your mouse over the setup style (e.g., "Rounds for 8") in the bookings list. A tooltip appears, showing the detailed notes associated with that setup.
“I used to email myself reminders—now I just create a task.”
Instead of relying on Outlook reminders or sticky notes, use the Tasks feature in Mazévo. You can add a task to a specific booking or the event as a whole, assign it to a team member, and set a due date. All your tasks appear on your Day At A Glance screen, creating a centralized, trackable to-do list that’s integrated directly into your workflow.
In today's environment, these "hidden" tools are more than just nice-to-haves. They are essential for keeping up without burning out.
You don’t need to become an expert overnight. The key is to start exploring what’s possible. This week, challenge yourself to try just one new thing in the Event Editor.
The Event Editor might look like just another screen, but it’s one of the most powerful tools in Mazévo. It’s packed with features designed to help you move from reactive task management to proactive event strategy. The more you explore it, the more you can accomplish with less effort.
