Accessibility Workarounds
There are several areas in Mazevo requesting tools that have alternate methods for navigating and displaying data.
Changing the zoom level on your browser
For a better experience, Mazevo recommends changing the zoom level, say to 400%, on the main menu, rather than navigating to a specific page or dialog and then zooming.
Add New Request
-
When viewing the page while zoomed in, some elements are not available:
-
On the Room selection panel, Room Type, Capacity, Request/Reserve, and Notes columns are not displayed. Room type, Capacity, and Notes are displayed on the room information pop-up.
-
- Time Fields do not announce that the focus automatically shifts to the next portion of the time field (from hours to minutes to AM/PM).
Event Book
The Event Book is usable for users using screen readers. All Events will display all events that are booked, a substitute for the grid portion of the Event Book. To make a request, it is recommended to use Add New Request or Book Room. Additional room details are available in these tools, but not All Events.
My Events
-
When viewing the page while zoomed in, some elements are not available:
-
The Last Booking Date and Organization are not displayed at higher zoom levels.
-
All Events
-
The Calendar format in All Events does not allow users to tab into each date as they navigate the date cells. The monthly format offers a more effective method for displaying and interacting with a single month's data.
- All Events does not support adding a new request. Adding a new request is available using the Add New Request tool.
- When viewing All Events while zoomed in, some fields and functions are removed for usability, specifically, the filtering and search for an event are removed from the display. You can use your browser's built-in find tool to locate specific data.
- The calendar view is also not available at higher zoom levels. It is recommended to use the monthly view.
Time Fields
When entering a value into a time field, the system automatically tabs from the hour segment to the minute segment and then to the AM/PM segment. For example, after entering 09 in the hour segment, the system automatically tabs to the minute segment. A screen reader does not announce this tab/cursor movement.
Modal Dialogs
When a modal dialog is opened, the focus is set to the close or done button in the lower left corner of the dialog. Pressing Esc will close the dialog. The dialog can also be closed by tabbing to the 'X' button in the upper right corner of the dialog.
