Resource Options: What They Are and How to Use Them

Resource options allow you to define groups of selections for a single resource. Options are typically used for catering, like a Buffet Dinner that may offer a choice of salad, entree, and dessert.

What Are Resource Options?

Some resources require the user to choose from a set of grouped options. For example, a resource called Italian Dinner may include selectable groups such as:

Appetizers (Choose 1)

  • Bruschetta
  • Olive Tapenade with Parmesan Crackers
  • Assorted Cheeses

Salads (Choose 1)

  • Caesar
  • Mixed Green
  • Caprese Salad

Entrees (Choose 2)

  • Osso Buco
  • Sea Bass
  • Rigatoni with Bolognese

Desserts (Choose 1)

  • Tiramisu
  • Chocolate Mousse

Option Groups in This Example

  • Appetizers
  • Salads
  • Entrees
  • Desserts

Each group can contain one or more items, and each group can specify how many items the user can select.

How to Define Resource Options

  1. Go to Settings > Resources.
  2. Find the resource you want to configure.
  3. In the Options column, click the number shown for that resource.
  4. Add or edit the Options Groups (e.g., Appetizers, Salads, etc.).
  5. For each group, specify the maximum number of items a user can select.
  6. Click Add Selection to define an individual item for the group and enter the name of the item.

Resource options may be edited at any time to adjust group names, selection limits, or available items.

When Are Resource Options Used?

When a user (either a requester or an event planner) adds a resource that includes options, Mazevo displays a dialog showing:

  • Each option group
  • All items in that group
  • The allowed number of selections

After making selections, the user clicks Save to record their choices for the event.

Where Do Resource Options Appear?

Selected resource options are displayed on:

  • Daily Operations Report
  • Service Order Report
  • Event Confirmation

This allows service providers and operations teams to clearly see the item-level details required for the event.
