Improvements to Editing Requests, Event Questions and More

blog-post-featured-image

We've made several enhancements across requester updates, event questions, resource packages, inquiry forms, and advanced academics.  These changes are designed to give you more flexibility, reduce administrative work, and make it easier to manage scheduling processes.

Many of the improvements in this release came directly from customer suggestions. We are grateful for the feedback you continue to share with us!

Requesters Can Now Update More Event Information

What Changed

Requesters now have greater control over the events they submit through My Events.

With this release, requesters can now:

  • Update event attendance
  • Change the event type
  • Edit the event description

Previously, these fields could only be modified by scheduling staff.

Why It Matters

Many event details change after a reservation is submitted. Attendance numbers grow, event types are updated, and additional information becomes available as plans come together.

Allowing requesters to update this information themselves helps keep event records accurate while reducing the number of simple update requests sent to scheduling offices.

More Flexible Approval Workflows for Event Questions

What Changed

Secondary approvals can now be triggered from event questions that allow multiple answers to be selected.

Previously, approval workflows could only be triggered when an event question allowed a single answer.

Why It Matters

Organizations often use event questions to identify activities, services, or requirements that need additional review. Many of those situations involve multiple selections rather than a single choice. This enhancement allows approval processes to work more consistently with how event questions are actually being used.

Finding Event Questions Is Now Easier for Event Planners

What Changed

When adding event questions in the Event Editor form, event planners can now search for the question they want to add.

Why It Matters

Organizations that have accumulated a large library of event questions can spend unnecessary time scrolling through lengthy lists. The new search capability makes it much easier to find and add the appropriate question, especially in larger implementations.

Greater Flexibility for Resource Packages

What Changed

Resource packages can now be assigned to a specific resource group.  Previously, all packages appeared within the default Packages resource group.

In addition, the resource group and service provider are now displayed when defining resource packages, making package management more consistent with how resources are displayed throughout Mazévo.

Why It Matters

Every organization structures resources differently. Giving administrators control over where packages appear provides more flexibility in how resources are organized and presented to users.

Displaying additional information about each package also makes package management easier, particularly for organizations with a large number of resources and service providers.

Inquiry Form Questions Can Now Include Links

What Changed

Questions on the Inquiry Form can now contain links to other web pages or websites.

Why It Matters

Many organizations need requesters to review policies, procedures, reservation guidelines, or terms and conditions before submitting an inquiry.  This enhancement allows those resources to be referenced directly during the inquiry process, helping users find important information when they need it.

Additional Data Included in Advanced Academics Optimizer Exports

What Changed

When exporting Optimizer results to Excel, the export now includes:

  • Crosslist Field
  • Campus Code

Why It Matters

Organizations using Advanced Academics often rely on exported data for additional review and analysis.  Including these fields in the export provides a more complete picture of optimizer results and eliminates the need to manually retrieve this information from other sources.

API Update

What Changed

The GetRooms API call now returns a Disabled flag.

Why It Matters

This additional field allows developers and integration partners to more easily identify room status when working with room data through the Mazévo API.

Bugs Fixed

We've also corrected several issues reported by customers.

Manage Ops

  • Changing service times on a booking could remove operations assignments from remaining bookings within the event. This issue has been resolved.

Inquiry Form

  • In some cases, changes to enable or disable the Inquiry Form were not being saved correctly. This has been corrected.

Advanced Find Events

  • Opening an event by event name could cause that same name to carry over into Advanced Find Events searches. This behavior has been corrected.

Security Policies

  • Assigning a security policy to a large number of users was not working reliably in some situations. This issue has been resolved.

Wrapping Up

These updates focus on reducing administrative work, improving flexibility, and making common scheduling tasks easier to manage. Whether you're supporting requesters, managing approval workflows, organizing resources, or working with academic scheduling data, these enhancements are designed to help your team work more efficiently and keep information accurate.
